On a normal Sunday, one can find Steve singing in a church someplace in North America and on many Mondays he will be in the studio singing for a movie or television show or about the qualities of a certain automobile or airline for a commercial. To some it might seem strange, but for Steve Amerson it’s all part of being salt and light in a tasteless and dismal world. With a wealth and depth of performance experience, Steve is known as America’s Tenor.
He has been a featured soloist with major symphonies in the United States and abroad including performances at the Hollywood Bowl and Carnegie Hall. His voice can be heard on over 160 feature films and numerous television shows including Star Trek Into Darkness, Godzilla, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Matrix Revolutions, Matrix Reloaded, King Kong, Fantastic Four, The Patriot, Amistad, Contact, Indiana Jones; Temple of Doom, Glory, Home Alone, Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin, The Hunt for Red October and commercials for Ford Trucks, Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Kibbles & Bits, Diet Coke, Spree, Mercedes, Texaco, IBM, and Delta Airlines.
He was one of three tenors chosen to record demonstration tapes used by Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras in preparation for The 3 Tenors performances around the world. Steve has ministered alongside well-known pastors and authors including Charles Swindoll, Jack Hayford, Ravi Zacharias, Bruce Wilkinson and David Jeremiah. He also provides music for countless ministry organizations.
Some of Steve’s best training has come from his upbringing as the son of a United Methodist pastor. Steve is a living witness of the church’s ministry in both the sacred and secular music communities. He is deeply committed to quality music of all styles, which will bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Steve is also honored to be a musical ambassador for the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation and Society as he sings for their events throughout the United States. In 2009, he was presented the Bob Hope Excellence in Entertainment Award from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. He has also performed for Wounded Warrior events as well as Sky Ball and Snowball Express events for American Airlines as they support those who serve in the U.S. military and their families.
