Becky Loar was born in Vero Beach; a small beach town on the south east coast of Florida. Raised in a strong Christian family, the church was her second living room. From choirs and ensembles to solos, the sanctuary stage was home. Through school chorus, marching band and piano lessons, music was the central focus of her life.
Becky received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, and continued her education by earning a Master of Music degree in Opera Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. She has performed in various operas, however she found her niche to be Oratorio, which beautifully blended her admiration of classical music with a love of the scriptures.
After pursuing a heavily classical career path in New York, Becky knew the calling on her life was stronger than ever. Her lifelong desire has always been to share the love and hope of the Lord through song. Her passion for the Lord is most evident when leading others in Praise and Worship. Last year, Becky completed her first EP recording with the help of producer Camp Kirkland and arranger Brian Green and is presently working on a full album of Classic Sacred Songs.
Becky currently teaches on the voice faculty at both Jacksonville University and University of North Florida in Jacksonville. When Becky isn’t singing, she is spending time with her hysterical hubby, Victor and their two crazy children, Charlotte and Nathaniel.
